Squire Boone family papers : surveys, depositions, indentures, 1781-1829.

This thirty-seven item collection consists of Squire Boone's legal documents, surveys, land indentures, and maps. The legal documents concern two matters. These are a land dispute over Boone's Station and the sinking of a keelboat and her freight in Wheeling, Virginia. The documents include summons, depositions, letters, and court records. Other members of the Boone family were involved and contributed to this collection. They include: William, Daniel, Josiah, and Jacob Boone. Other items of interest in the collection are letters concerning the Maysville Road, Daniel's return to Kentucky to resolve legal problems, including land disputes. The land transactions concern several people, the most prominent outside of the Boone family being Robert Breckinridge.
